C&N Donates To Christmas House

COUDERSPORT, PA – The Christmas House has received $1,100 from Citizens & Northern Bank and the C&N Trust and Financial Management Group. The funds represent the Trust Division’s $500 contribution on behalf of its clients and funds collected from Coudersport branch employees and customers.

The Christmas House serves residents of Potter, Cameron and McKean Counties. The charity provides toys for needy children, shoes and clothing and helps pay utility bills for families in need. The Christmas House operates a food pantry and helps families whose homes have been damaged or destroyed by fire.

The C&N Coudersport office collects funds for The Christmas House each year. The C&N Trust and Financial Management Group’s contribution was one of five made by the Group as its holiday gift to its clients. Contributions are made to non-profit organizations in each region the Group serves.

C&N Trust Division Contributes to Seeds of Hope

WELLSBORO, PA – Seeds of Hope, a volunteer organization that assists Tioga County families in crisis, has received a $500 donation from the C&N Trust and Financial Management Group. The donation was one of five made by the Group as its holiday gift to its clients. Contributions are made to non-profit organizations in each region the Group serves.

Seeds of Hope is a ministry of area churches and other individuals working in partnership with the Tioga County Department of Human Services. The organization accepts referrals from Human Services, then volunteers to provide resources, do home repairs and mentor. Volunteers have winterized homes, built furniture, made needed home repairs, provided food, clothing and bedding, assisted families in finding a home, met emergency needs of families in crisis and more.

WELLSBORO, PA - Three Citizens & Northern Bank employees have been recognized for a combined 70 years of service to the financial institution.

Recognized during the November service awards luncheon were:

  • Sandy McNeal, East Smithfield Community Office Manager, 25 years.
  • Ginger Reap, Athens Community Office Manager, 35 years.
  • Keith Vandegrift, Network Engineer in the Wellsboro office, 10 years.

Service awards luncheons are held regularly and hosted by C&N Chairman, President and CEO Charles H. Updegraff, Jr. In 2012, C&N recognized 27 employees for a total of 515 years of service to Citizens & Northern Bank.

C&N Offices Collecting Food For Central PA Food Bank

WILLIAMSPORT, PA – Throughout November and December, Citizens & Northern Bank’s six Lycoming County offices will be collecting non-perishable food items for the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank.

Collection barrels will be placed in each office beginning Wednesday, November 7th. The public is invited to visit any of the participating offices to donate food items to the food bank. Participating offices include:

  • Jersey Shore – 230 Railroad Street
  • Muncy – 3461 Route 405 Highway
  • Old Lycoming – 1510 Dewey Avenue
  • Ralston – 24 Thompson Street
  • South Williamsport – 2 East Mountain Avenue
  • Williamsport – 130 Court Street.

The collection is an annual event for C&N’s Lycoming County offices. “In this economy, many of our neighbors are suffering,” said Stacy Elliott, Old Lycoming branch manager. “Local food banks are seeing an increased demand as food prices continue to rise. We hope this collection will help the Food Bank during the holiday season and meet the needs of our local residents this winter.”

The Central Pennsylvania Food Bank distributes more than 15 million pounds of food and grocery products every year to more than 500 soup kitchens, shelters, and food pantries in 27 central Pennsylvania counties. These agencies directly feed thousands of hungry families throughout central Pennsylvania. More information on the food bank is available at www.centralpafoodbank.org.

Citizens & Northern Corporation Declares Dividend

WELLSBORO, PA - Directors of Citizens & Northern Corporation, parent company of Citizens & Northern Bank, have declared a regular quarterly cash dividend of $0.24 per share. The record date is November 1, 2012 and it is payable on November 13, 2012 to shareholders of record. The amount is increased from the previous dividend of $0.22 per share, which was paid in August, 2012, and is the eleventh consecutive quarterly increase in the dividend.

Declaration of the dividend was made at the October 18, 2012 meeting of the C&N Board of Directors.
